Dr. Petersdorf earned her BA from Harvard University and MD from McGill University School of Medicine. She completed post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at the University of Washington. Dr. Petersdorf is Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington, and Member, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Her research is focused on the immunogenetics of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. Dr. Petersdorf is Attending Physician at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance where she has active clinical duties in the clinical transplant program. Dr. Petersdorf was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers by President Clinton. She has served as President of the World Marrow Donor Association and is currently President-Elect of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
